Kendži Mijazawa je autorem pohádkových povídek zasazených do snového světa plného nadpřirozených postav a nevšedních dobrodružství. Kromě toho v tomto souboru najdete taktéž kratší příběhy s neméně půvabnou atmosférou, jejichž ústředními motivy jsou například dospívání, nesmyslnost války či význam píle a úsilí.
