Publikace se zabývá pracovními podmínkami osob se zdravotním postižením, které
tvoří jednu z nejvíce ohrožených skupin na trhu práce. Podává ucelený přehled
mezinárodních dokumentů a českých právních předpisů upravujících danou
problematiku včetně změn právní úpravy vymezující osoby se zdravotním
postižením, jež má nabýt účinnost 1. lednu 2010. Vychází z pojetí pracovních
podmínek v tzv. širším smyslu, neboť pracovní podmínky mnohdy nelze oddělit od
obecných životních podmínek.
Publikace se zabývá právními, náboženskými a politickými aspekty starověké římské rodiny a je výsledkem spolupráce autorů z Právnické a Filozofické fakulty Masarykovy univerzity. Monografie zkoumá antickou rodinu prostřednictvím právních a narativních pramenů. Úvodní část umisťuje rodinu do mytologického kontextu, následovaná kapitolou o náboženství a tradicích v římské společnosti. Další část se soustředí na postavení rodu, rodiny a jednotlivce v rámci veřejného a soukromého práva, včetně analýzy serviovské ústavy a přežívajících rodových zvyklostí. Hlavní část práce se zaměřuje na postavení členů rodiny jako osob sui a alieni iuris a na přechodové rituály, které provázely klíčové životní okamžiky (narození, dospělost, svatba, smrt a pohřeb). V posledním století republiky, kdy dochází k náboženskému a mravnímu úpadku, se Octavianus Augustus snaží o reformy rodinného života. Další kapitola se věnuje rodinnému trestnímu právu a oprávněním otce a manžela trestat za provinění. Závěr se zaměřuje na postavení ženy v barbarském právu, konkrétně ve vizigótském právu, a popisuje význam rodiny a postavení ženy v rodině a veřejném životě.
