S úvodem do díla Andrey Palladia (1508-1580) se do centra pozornosti této edice dostává jedna z nejvlivnějších postav evropské architektury. Palladiova Villa Rotonda ve Vicenze je nejvýznamnější budovou svého druhu: ovlivnila mnoho pozdějších architektonických projektů a zůstala inspiračním zdrojem i pro současné architekty. Palladiovský styl se sloupovými fasádami připomínajícími starořímské chrámy se rozšířil do celé Evropy; v Británii tvořil jeden z významných kořenů architektury 17. a 18. století. V devatenáctém století se pak k palladiovskému stylu přiklonili zejména američtí stavitelé.
