The intention is to provide contributions for the analysis of Movement/Play/Sport, which determine to a great extend as phenomena the life of people today. In the volumes of this book series special consideration is given to a close relationship of theory and practice. Volume 3 presents the topic ``The Future of School Sport (Physical Education) in Today's World. Scientific Concepts for Practical Innovations''. The structure of the book is divided in three major dimensions: (A) Phenomenal: Movement/Play/Sport (M-P-S). (B) Educational: Sport Education. (C) Scientific: Sport Science. The intention is to present research results, mainly from the theory field ``Sport Pedagogy'', in its relevance for realizing school sport in the future, in order to contribute to the acceptance of school sport (Physical Education) as a fully recognized school subject.

This second edition of the “Dictionary: Sport – Physical Education – Sport Science” presents a new and improved version of its first edition. The new two-column layout makes the information provided in it more accessible to the reader. For rules and regulations within the major sport disciplines, website addresses of the relevant federations are provided. To facilitate the use of this dictionary for an international audience, a translation of the English terms into twelve languages is included on a CD accompanying the volume. Furthermore, the list of sport-related dictionaries has been updated and extended.
