Více o knize
Walter Ciszek was born into a family of Polish emigrants. After joining the Jesuits, he committed to missionary work in Russia and adopted the Eastern rite. When World War II broke out, he was in a Polish region occupied by the Red Army. In 1940, he was arrested and spent 23 years imprisoned by the Soviet regime, including 15 years in Siberia. It was not until 1963 that he was able to return to the United States, exchanged for two Soviet agents. He wrote two books about his life experiences, and this is one of them.
