Ghyl Tarvoke lives with his father on Halma, a remote world in the vastness of the galaxy. From an early age, Ghyl experiences the oppression of the mysterious "Lords," who ruthlessly exploit the people of Halma. When his father dies due to the ruling system, Ghyl becomes a rebel.
