Více o knize

From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most sniper kills in U.S. military history, with the Pentagon confirming over 150 of them. Iraqi insurgents feared him so much they nicknamed him al-Shaitan (“the devil”) and placed a bounty on his head. Kyle earned legendary status among fellow SEALs, Marines, and Army soldiers, whom he protected with deadly accuracy from rooftops and stealth positions. His gripping account of extraordinary battlefield experiences is regarded as one of the great war memoirs. A native Texan, Kyle learned to shoot during childhood hunting trips and was a champion saddle-bronc rider before joining the Navy. After 9/11, he became a world-class sniper, recording a personal best 2,100-yard kill shot outside Baghdad. In Fallujah, he braved heavy fire to rescue trapped Marines, and in Ramadi, he faced insurgents in close combat. Kyle candidly discusses the pain of war, including being shot twice and the tragic loss of close friends. The narrative also honors his fellow warriors and features his wife, Taya, who shares the emotional toll of war on their marriage and family. Adrenaline-charged and deeply personal, this memoir offers a thrilling eyewitness account of war.
