Aby přiměl Nelsona k zodpovědnosti, rozhodne se s Janice koupit si vlastní domek a starost o tchyni přenechat Nelsonovi. Kvůli koupi se Harry vrhne do spekulací se zlatem, později se stříbrem. Nelson tuto situaci řeší jako kdysi Harry - útěkem, vrací se zpátky na univerzitu a zanechá Pru v Brewsteru. To právě v době vánoc, kdy Harry spolu s přáteli odjíždí na rekreaci za teplem. Harry doufá ve sblížení se Cindy, která ho velice vzrušuje. Dohodnou se navzájem na hromadné výměně partnerů, jednu noc ji provedou, ale než se mu splní jeho sen, musí se vrátit – kvůli Nelsonovu útěku. Harry rovněž pátrá po své domnělé dceři, která se u něj objevila v prodejně a připomněla mu jeho bývalou lásku. Tu nakonec najde, ale ona jeho otcovství rozhodně popírá...
