Wu Hufan war einer der bedeutendsten Kenner chinesischer Malerei und Schriftkunst im frühen 20. Jahrhundert. Er hinterließ Aufschriften (Kolophone) auf berühmten Kunstwerken, die bis heute international Beachtung finden. Diese Biographie und kritische Analyse seiner Kunstkommentare wird nun erstmals auf Englisch präsentiert. Wu Hufan (1894–1968) hinterließ in formvollendeter Kalligraphie Aufschriften, die Teil der Überlieferungsgeschichte der jeweiligen Werke wurden.
