Since the inception of organized labor, the dynamics of incentives, organizational structures, and their effects on employees have been pivotal. This area remains relevant as work environments evolve, particularly under the remarkable influences of globalization. Globalization, coupled with cost pressures and efficiency demands, necessitates highly flexible and motivated employees. These individuals often endure longer hours, increased workloads, and intense competition, igniting discussions surrounding wages and bonuses. Research in this domain encompasses the economy, employment, wages, motivation, and work-life balance. This study explores how labor conditions and incentives impact employee motivation, satisfaction, and performance, aiming to enhance labor economics research through three key studies. First, it investigates employer contract selection and the effects of incentive contracts on employee performance. Second, it examines the relationship between ownership and performance, contributing to experimental economic literature by deepening the understanding of wage and ownership structure incentives. Utilizing laboratory experiments allows for controlled analysis of various influences, addressing the scarcity of field data. Lastly, an empirical analysis assesses the effects of working hours and mismatches on satisfaction, drawing from field data to enrich the work-life balance discourse.
