Rückkehr nach Trier Mitte 1944, Segelflugausbildung statt Schule, Evakuierung nach Amberg/Obpf. dort mit 12 Jahren als Jungzugführer zur Infanterie, nach Ausbildung nur mit Tricks dem Kriegsdienst bei Nürnberg entgangen. Rückkehr Mitte 1945 nach Trier, Aufbau dort und noch Zeit für weitere Abenteuer vom Flugplatz bis zum verlassenen Westwall.
