Roger Fry

    Roger Fry byl anglický umělec a kritik umění, který významně ovlivnil britské umělecké vnímání. Proslavil se jako znalec starých mistrů, ale stal se také klíčovou postavou v prosazování moderního francouzského malířství, kterému dal název Postimpresionismus. Fryův přístup se vyznačoval důrazem na formální vlastnosti obrazů, jako jsou linie, barva a kompozice, oproti pouhému obsahu zobrazeného námětu. Jeho vliv na britský umělecký vkus byl tak hluboký, že je považován za muže, který nejvíce proměnil vnímání umění od dob Johna Ruskina.
