Focusing on the pervasive issue of child marriage in Ethiopia's Amhara region, this qualitative research examines the impact of multimedia messaging on public perception. Through radio, print, and group discussions, the study evaluates shifts in Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAPs) regarding child marriage. By analyzing reflection statements from group diaries, it highlights changes in understanding and attitudes among audiences in three districts of the North Gondar Zone, shedding light on the potential for multimedia interventions to effect social change.

The experimental study explores the interplay between Integrative Behavior Prediction (IBP) and media priming effects in enhancing handwashing behaviors at critical moments: before eating, before food preparation, and after defecation. It aims to identify beliefs that can facilitate behavior change, demonstrating a significant relationship between positive intentions and actual handwashing practices. Changing hand washing behavior in a community requires a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating psychology and media practices. Beliefs that hinder proper hand washing vary across different community segments, necessitating tailored strategies for adults, children, women, and men. Understanding these distinct beliefs is crucial for effectively promoting better hygiene practices during critical moments.

Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2015 in the subject Sociology - Children and Youth, , language: English, abstract: The purpose of this short assessment is to determine the scale of the needs and protection risks for children affected by maltreatment. Furthermore, it is to determine the potential and actual capacities to respond to these within Metema and Lay Armachiho, woredas of the North Gondar Zone Amhara region in Ethiopia. Although the analysis of the information collected from 95 interviews shows some prevention measures, it reveals the presence of child violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. In addition, it was identified that the situation is aggravated due to the presence of child trafficking in one woreda and child disability problems in the other woreda. Additionally, the presence of orphans, vulnerable children and harmful traditional practices are identified in both areas. Finally, the study recommends an update of old and installation of new measures to be taken against the mentioned abuse.

Die Forschungsarbeit untersucht die Auswirkungen von multimedialen Nachrichten, insbesondere durch Radioübertragungen und Gruppendiskussionen, auf die Bekämpfung von Kinderehen in Nordäthiopien. Ziel war es, effektive Maßnahmen zu fördern und das Bewusstsein in drei lokalen Gemeinschaften zu stärken.
