Anthea Arnold Knihy

Started in 1948 in a basement in the West End of London in the 1960s and 1970s, this pottery became one of the most important training grounds for fast, good throwing, finally closing in 1990.

This reissue tells the story of how the home of key members of the Bloomsbury set was brought back from ruin and lovingly restored to life. Deborah Gage set about saving this house by galvanizing support, raising money and masterminding the project. With the help of many individuals and despite setbacks, the restoration was a success.
