Focusing on the examination malpractice among secondary school students in Mangu local government area of Plateau State, this study investigates the underlying causes and their detrimental effects on education. It explores factors such as inadequate preparation, teacher motivation, and incompetence as catalysts for malpractice. The research, conducted between 2004 and 2014, employs a field survey and documentary analysis, utilizing questionnaires and interviews for data collection. Statistical tools like chi-square tests and charts are used to analyze the findings.
