Su Zi lives in Central Florida now. Her artistic media is both linguistic as well as visual, high art and craft. When the weather is warm, people notice her collection of tattoos, but prefer to remark to her about either her height or her smoking. She is the human partner for three horses, two dogs, two cats, two turtles and tries to create a welcoming place for wildlife.
Drawn from primary sources, the essays collected in Building Community speak about the work we do, and how our vocations cause and create interaction in our communities. Each essay posits a pragmatic approach to mindful living that can be carried into any occupation or geo-region. Originally published in the online culture magazine Gypsy Art Show--now vaporized--this publication is now the only access to the voices contained in these essays.
This chapbook contains the three-part, single long poem Three Days. Originally published as an April Poetry Month feature of tattoed poets, then published in Summer 2014 by Blue Heron (an online periodical), from which the poem was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. This is the first print version of the poem-a memento mori that is already a cult classic.
