The novel spans three generations of the Wainsford family of Marblehead, Massachusetts and their family business, Newport Asset Management, a mutual fund complex headquartered in Boston''s financial district. It tells how Jonathan Wainsford started the company in the 1950''s.lnterwoven throughout is the history of important changes on Wall Street and how the company became America''s largest mutual fund complex. The story also tells of the methods organized crime used to infiltrate the U.S. financial industry, using the fictional Marcello crime family as an example. The book ends at the dawn of the 21st century, after a struggle over strategy between the current Chairman and his son is resolved. It''s got mini-history lessons, politics, blackmail, murder, interesting characters and a little sex thrown in. There are a number of parallels to the real world. The author has over thirty years experience working on Wall Street and Devonshire Street, as well as, being a banker, U.S. Navy Lieutenant and African big game hunter.
