      Kterak se jistá narcistka vydala na pouť za poznáním, jestli za její velkou zadnicí může její život aneb Buchty nejsou řešení… Ve své knize se Jen pustila do problému, který je skutečnou výzvou: váha. Zapomeňte na problémy se zaměstnáním či psychotické chicagské sousedy: pro ženu neexistuje děsivější moment než chvíle, kdy má v koupelně vstoupit na váhu. Pokud jde o Jen Lancasterovou, ta při pohledu na číselník váhy rozhodně nebyla spokojena a rozhodla se s tím něco udělat. Tedy, ve skutečnosti prodala námět na knihu o tom, jak se snaží zhubnout, takže k tomu zkrátka a prostě byla DONUCENA a něco udělat musela. Ale to není to hlavní. Jen nikdy nebyla typem žen, které chodí každý den cvičit do posilovny. A přesto se rozhodla postavit se svým strachům tváří v tvář a věnovat svému tělesnému zdraví stejnou pozornost, jakou věnuje ostatním stránkám svého života: manželovi, svým zvířátkům, svému pití, své fetišistické lásce k botám, a tak dále. Kniha Nádherně tlustá je velice upřímné vyprávění o tom, co Jen podnikla, aby se dostala do formy. Nikdo neříká, že to šlo snadno. Po cestě, na které vyzkoušela všechny možné diety, od Atkinse přes Jenny Craigovou až po Hlídače váhy, se dopustila řady přešlapů. Nakonec si uvědomila, že většina diet je na dvě věci… Klíčem ke štíhlosti i ke zdraví je rozumná volba a (uf, uf!) cvičení. A přesně to Jen udělala
