B: Breton, Brassaï, Braque, Balthus… Užasle jsem listovala zažloutlými stránkami. C: Cocteau, Chagall… E: Éluard… G: Giacometti… U každého jména telefon, často i adresa. L: Lacan… S: Sarraultová… Dvacet stránek, na nichž jsou seřazení největší pováleční umělci žijící v Paříži. Kdo je mohl znát a stýkat se s nimi? „Trvalo mi tři měsíce, než jsem zjistila, že v ruce držím notýsek Dory Maarové.“ Když si Brigitte Benkemounová pořídila na eBay použitý obal na notýsek, netušila, ž něm objeví popsaný zápisník, plný jmen osobnostní pařížské bohémy. Při následném pátrání zjistila, že adresář patřil umělkyni a jedné z múz a milenek Pabla Picassa - „plačící ženě“ Doře Maarové. Slavné fotografce, jež se plně odevzdává Picassovi a vášnivá láska k němu ji zničí – po jejich rozchodu odchází do ústraní, na dalších šedesát let života se noří do malby a celou svou bytostí se odevzdává Bohu. Při dvouletém pátrání po jejím osudu ožívá bohémská Paříž dvacátého století a objevují se i další přátelé a známí, které si Dora v roce 1951 do notýsku již nezapsala – Georges Bataille, Max Jacob, Man Ray… a samozřejmě (všudypřítomný) Picasso.
