Monografie německo-amerického architekta Ludwiga Miese van der Rohe (1886–1969), jedné ze zakladatelských osobností moderní architektury. Mies neprošel akademickým vzděláním, jako člen Bauhausu (1930–1933 jeho ředitel) vyšel z prostého tvarosloví klasických forem. Proslavil se svou zásadou „méně je více“, která vyjadřovala jeho hledání čisté elegance architektonického výrazu. Kniha obsahuje obsáhlý úvodní biografický text a dále představuje na asi 120 ilustracích Miesovy nejvýznamnější stavby, mezi nimi Německý pavilon na Mezinárodní výstavě v Barceloně (1928–1929) nebo brněnskou vilu Tugendhat (1929–1930).

Období třiceti let, které Mies van der Rohe, legenda modernismu, strávil prací v Americe, bezpochyby reflektuje jeho důsledné a vyzrálé úsilí, kterým se pokoušel dosáhnout svého cíle: nové architektury dvacátého století. Rozhovory s Miesem van der Rohe se zaměřují právě na toto americké období a tím dávají novou důvěru tomuto tvrzení, jelikož popisují architektovy nejdůležitější myšlenky o projektech a navíc jsou řečeny jeho vlastními slovy. Dieser Band dokumentiert den nie realisierten Entwurf eines Golfclubhaus für Krefeld von Ludwig Mies van der Rohe aus dem Jahr 1930 mit Skizzen und Plänen sowie ausführlich den Bau des begehbares Modells im Maßstab 1:1. Nach den Originalplänen aus dem Nachlass im MoMa in New York war dieses 2013 am Originalschauplatz in Krefeld für einige Monate entstanden.
