The Rural Ecology textbook is designed for the needs of students of the graduate (master) study program "Sustainable Management of Land and Rural Area" at the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences of the University of Sarajevo, as well as other master study programs, at their own discretion, and higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mostar, Zenica, Tuzla, Bihać, Banja Luka, etc.). It could also be a useful scientific material at Polytechnics in these towns and elsewhere. When the graduate master study is concerned, this textbook fully covers the subject matter (module) that was developed within TEMPUS Project "Western Balkan Rural Extension Network through Curriculum Reform" (WBREN) in collaboration with the Agricultural Faculty in Banja Luka, where this subject is entitled "Rural Development" and taught in master studies. The textbook can also be used to a considerable extent for other subjects such as Agro-ecological Zoning, Planning and Sustainable Development of Rural Areas, Ecopedology etc., studied in the master degree program "Sustainable Management of Land and Rural Area" at the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences of the University of Sarajevo, as well as other master degree study programs in the area of environment and sustainable management of natural resources.
