Februar 2018 wurde der große türkische Intellektuelle Ahmet Altan in der Türkei zu lebenslanger Haft verurteilt. Ne gariptir ki, imparatorluğun çöküşünün ilk izlerini görmesi, ihtiyarlığı andırır endişeli bir sıkıntıyı ilk hissedişi de Sultan'ın dönüşüne rast geliyordu, belki de eski karısı geri gelmese imparatorluğun çöküntüsünü bu kadar çabuk görmeyecekti.
