Český překlad politického románu z první čtvrtiny 17. století. Vedle složitě konstruovaného příběhu přináší jednoznačné politické poselství - návod na prosazení konceptu absolutní vlády. Dílo vyšlo poprvé latinsky v Paříži roku 1621. Jeho autor - básník, učenec a spisovatel skotsko-francouzského původu - byl představitelem nadnárodní evropské kultury a latinsky psané literatury počátku 17. století.
