    Tato britská psychiatrička je průkopnicí v oblasti výzkumu poruch autistického spektra. Po narození autistické dcery se začala věnovat studiu vývojových poruch a spolu s dalšími rodiči spoluzaložila Národní autistickou společnost. Její práce, včetně vlivného článku o Aspergerově syndromu, výrazně přispěla k pochopení a popularizaci problematiky autismu, ačkoli sama autorka upozorňovala na omezení svých raných studií.
