    • Tumour necrosis factor (TNF) can no longer be regarded solely as a tumour cytotoxic or cytostatic agent, but is now recognized as exerting a multitude of effects on many different cell types. This volume surveys recent advances in the field of TNF and related cytokines. The main topics are areas that relate to structure-function relationship; advances in the molecular characterization of TNF receptors; the role of TNF in infectious and non-infectious diseases; TNF's role in the development and differentiation of various tissues; clinical application of TNF in diagnosis and therapy, and TNF and inhibitors in infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases and cancer.
