An historical gazetteer of Cyprus (1850 - 1987) with notes on population

This Gazetteer is based upon the Topographical Map of Cyprus, scale 1:100,000, second edition 1984, all toponyms of which are contained. It also contains all the names on Kitchener's Map of Cyprus, London 1885 and the results of the censuses of 1881 and 1982 together with unpublished Turkish material on the change of place names and population migrations since 1963. Included is a hitherto disregarded Ottoman map of Cyprus of 1873, and references are made to a number of travel books and guides from the 19th century and recent years.
