C-myc in B-cell neoplasia

The papers in this collection were presented at the 14th Mechanisms in B-cell Neoplasia meeting held in Bethesda, Maryland, from October 21-23, 1996. The organizers decided to change the meeting format to focus on specific topics relevant to B-cell neoplasia, with this year's theme centered on the c-myc oncogene, a recurring subject in previous meetings. Several presentations revealed significant advances in understanding c-myc, highlighting the complexity of the topic, which warranted dedicated discussion. While the book reviews various aspects of the myc issue, it does not claim to be comprehensive. A recent Medline search revealed 8,505 references to myc, underscoring the field's extensive interest and depth. The meeting organizers contributed review chapters summarizing different facets of the discussions. Appreciation is extended to the National Cancer Institute for sponsoring the workshop and to Cygnus, Inc. for their exceptional organizational support.
