To understand cancer we must know how Ca2+ drives cell cycles and how and why cells lose Ca2+ control while climbing the steps to cancer. This book presents a much needed and concise, but wide-ranging overview of what we know about the several different roles of Ca2+ in starting, and subsequently driving, the major cell cycle transitions. Also explored is the differentiation-apoptosis (diffpoptosis) of two exemplary cell systems - colon and skin.
