Oligarchia

The author presents here a history of how oligarchy, as a political form, was perceived and evaluated by the Greeks down through the time of Aristotle. He grapples above all with the testimony of Plato and Aristotle, but at no point loses the historical aspect of his study. The monograph is remarkably comprehensive and well documented. It is the first major discussion specifically directed toward the subject in a long time. M.
