A new phenomenon: the international competition for highly skilled migrants and its consequences for Germany

Due to demographic and technological developments that affect most OECD countries in a similar way, many countries will soon be facing skills shortages. This is likely to lead to international competition for the highly-skilled. Indeed, several OECD countries have already introduced tax incentives to attract such expatriates. This book is one of the first comprehensive studies on the emerging international competition for highly-skilled migrants. It places particular emphasis on the situation in Germany.
