Location and context awareness

Více o knize

These proceedings contain papers from the 2nd International Workshop on Location- and Context-Awareness held in May 2006. As computing integrates more into daily life, understanding location and context becomes increasingly vital. The limited contexts experienced at a desk contrast sharply with the diverse situations encountered outside. For computing to remain relevant, it must grasp the user's activity, resources, state of mind, and goals—elements of context where location plays a crucial role. The workshop aimed to showcase research focused on sensing, inferring, and utilizing location and context data to assist users. Our call for papers yielded 74 submissions, each reviewed by our Program Committee. After thorough discussions, we selected 18 papers for publication. Most accepted papers underwent a shepherding process to incorporate reviewer feedback into the final versions. We believe this selective review and shepherding has produced a high-quality collection of published works. We extend our gratitude to all authors, our diligent Program Committee, thoughtful reviewers, and dedicated shepherds for their contributions.
