Více o knize

Data management and integration are crucial in the life sciences, with advancements in molecular biology and medicine relying heavily on effective data handling, quality assurance, and computational analysis. Key areas such as systems biology, personalized medicine, and pharmacogenomics depend on the integration of diverse data sets generated by various experimental methods and research groups. Despite over a decade of focused research, many challenges persist, exacerbated by the increasing volume and variety of data needing management. A significant upcoming challenge involves integrating diverse “omics” data with extensive clinical data collected daily from hospitals and physician offices globally. DILS 2006 is the third workshop in an annual series designed to promote discussion and innovation in data management and integration for the life sciences. Following successful previous events in Leipzig and San Diego, which attracted around 100 researchers each, this year saw an increase in submitted papers. The Program Committee selected 23 papers from 50 strong submissions, reflecting the growing interest and ongoing challenges in the field.
