'Comedy and Gender' assembles contributions to the interdisciplinary Regensburg symposium in honour of Dieter A. Berger (2006). The collection mirrors the range of contemporary English and American Studies in Germany. Articles concerned with British literary and cultural history are accompanied by others which are orientated towards the USA. The collection includes also those contributions which approach the complex field of Comedy and Gender from a linguistic angle, but which forge a link with Cultural Studies and in particular with Gender Studies.
