Nonprofit-Private Partnerships in Public Health

Access to health care and the undersupply of necessary medicaments are key constraints in poor countries. The advancement of health care in impoverished regions in the world is a major task in the 21st century. This substantial responsibility cannot be undertaken by one entity alone. Nonprofit organizations and pharmaceutical companies have complementary skills and obstacles and, by forming partnerships, they have a significant potential to improve the public health situation in developing countries.
