Více o knize
This book aims to look beyond statistics regarding refugees in European nations, highlighting the individuals behind the numbers—many of whom are survivors of torture striving to rebuild their lives after traumatic experiences that have left lasting scars. Those addressing the needs of these survivors navigate the complex intersection of health and human rights, often amid intense political debate. In rehabilitation centres, professionals collaborate to help restore identity, security, and hope for a future to those traumatized by violence. Some centres have been operational for over 25 years, showcasing significant expertise in the field. However, the immense pressure on staff, coupled with inadequate funding and resources, often sidelines systematic evaluation, which is crucial for understanding effective practices. Our approach prioritizes a descriptive and qualitative evaluation, recognizing the complexity of clients' situations rather than oversimplifying cause and effect. This publication aims to share best practices in treatment methods and establish quality indicators deemed essential for our work. Ultimately, our goal is to enhance services for survivors of torture and ensure they receive the highest quality of care and rehabilitation, which is their rightful entitlement.
