The first volume is dedicated to Where R = Ryoanji, a series of 170 drawings made between 1983 and 1992 and inspired by the rock garden at the Ryoanji Temple near Kyoto. Though the book comprises the complete body of the Ryoanji drawings, only 142 of the drawings could be reproduced. Volume 2 will present all of Cage's watercolors created between 1988 and 1990, and Volume 3 will feature the prints from the period 1978-1992. -- Publisher's blurb.
