vorherige ISBN 978-3-86895-317-6 Is it a waterfall in slow motion, running across the current of time and consciousness? Is it an avalanche, violently descending towards the valley of forgotten past? Or perhaps it is a mountain rock, proudly spreading its solid volume in the enchanted landscape of the world yet to come? The formally nonchalant work of Kathrin Partelli is a generous act of daydreaming the sculpture as a medium of a particular potency and richness. Through a liberating and emancipatory gesture of expanding the space, the artist negotiates the sculpture as a cross-disciplinary, performative collage, between a drawing in space, installation and an architectural construction. eigentlich (2010), as actually the title suggests, is Partelli’s manifesto of an ontological condition of her multidimensional work. Left undefined as such, it indicates a process: a moment of about to be delivered and articulated, a constant state of becoming and birth. Applying contrasting materials (soft and hard, fragile and solid) and techniques (focused on almost simultaneous attempts of building up and destroying, accumulating and reducing).
