Více o knize

This thesis details the development of the New Large Area Neutron Detector NeuLAND, intended for use at the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) in Germany. It outlines the assembly process for detector modules and describes experiments conducted with the NeuLAND Demonstrator in Japan. Additionally, a virtual assembly of the detector is created for Monte Carlo simulations, converting energy depositions into events that closely resemble experimental data, demonstrating good agreement with results from Japan. The performance of newly developed reconstruction methods is evaluated across various detector sizes, enabling the reconstruction of multiplicity and primary interaction points for multiple incoming neutrons. Furthermore, the groundwork for employing neural networks in event reconstruction is established. The second part introduces the Geant4 application G4Horus, which simulates the HORUS γ-ray spectrometer at the Institute for Nuclear Physics, University of Cologne. This spectrometer, utilizing high purity germanium (HPGe) detectors, measures γ-rays between 5 MeV and 10 MeV, where standardized calibration sources are lacking, complicating efficiency calibration. G4Horus addresses this challenge by providing user-friendly efficiency simulations, facilitating a better understanding and enhancement of complex experiments and data analysis procedures through matching simulations, including listmode data with simulat
