The Children of the New Forest

Set during the English Civil War, the story follows the four children of Colonel Beverley, a Royalist who dies in battle. After their home is burned, they escape with the help of Jacob Armitage, an elderly forester, and adapt to peasant life in the New Forest. Embracing their new circumstances, they embark on a series of adventures, including a mishap with a cattle trap that leads to unexpected challenges. As they navigate the dangers of their time, the siblings work together to reclaim their family's estate against all odds.
