Dearth and plenty are metaphors characterizing the beginning and driving forces of becoming. One finds from Plato to Hegel, using these metaphors, a peculiar lawfulness described, according to which all potential things become actual and all latent things manifest. Both Schelling‹s intellectual »Anschauung« in his System of Transcendental Idealism and his doctrine of potencies from his Philosophy of Revelation are based in an idea of freedom which exceeds the demand of that lawfulness.
