Focusing on the critical review of alternatives to internal combustion engines, this collection features proceedings from the International Symposium on Alternative and Advanced Automotive Engines held in Vancouver in 1986. Sponsored by EXPO 86 and The University of British Columbia, the event attracted around 80 participants from 11 countries, representing academia and the automotive industry. The symposium emphasized combustion engines, intentionally excluding electric power to sharpen discussions and foster engaging debates among contributors.
