Explicit evidence of the identity of those responsible for the composition of the Psalter is provided by the ascription of certain psalm collections to groups such as the Asaphites and Korahites. The articles in this volume analyze various direct and indirect clues within the Psalter for information concerning its authors, redactors, and compilers. The discovery of these tradents will prove to be of decisive significance for the interpretation of individual Psalms as well as the theology of the Psalter as a whole.
