In the Fall

Set against the backdrop of post-Civil War America, the story follows Norman Pelham, a wounded soldier, and Leah, an escaped slave with a hidden past. Their love blossoms as Leah cares for Norman, leading them on a journey north as a married couple. Their son, however, chooses a life of bootlegging and nightlife, distancing himself from family ties. The narrative unfolds further when their grandson embarks on a quest to uncover his family's buried secrets and confront the complexities of his heritage.
