Více o knize

Foldforming at 30 is a pictorial survey of an innovation in metal forming developed by Artist Goldsmith Charles Lewton-Brain in the 1980's. Its purpose is to explore the adoption of foldforming by the global metal arts community, and the creative evolution of those techniques today, 30 years later. The Center for Metal Arts partnered with Charles Lewton-Brain in 2012 to launch the annual Lewton-Brain Foldform Competition in order to monitor the evolution of foldforming techniques over time. Foldforming at 30 is a record of that story. All winning pieces and Jurors' Choice selections for competition years 2012 and 2013 are represented in full color; a total of 49 pieces that range from jewelry to functional objects and sculpture. The forward is contributed by Charles Lewton-Brain, with commentary on each work by Hazel Wheaton, 2013 judge and editor of Art Jewelry magazine. Additional commentary is by metal artist, educator, and author Cynthia Eid. Printer / supplier is Blurb.com. This edition is an 8x10" glossy soft cover coffee table art book with 140# coated photo paper, perfect bound.A later edition released on November 7, 2014 is 8.5x11" in a format most often used by magazines, with identical contents and different cover images.
