Focusing on the Traditional Epidemiological Theory, this research investigates how workplace characteristics influence rates of occupational injuries and illnesses. It specifically analyzes the impact of six employer health and safety practices, such as the presence of labor unions, industrial hygiene services, and formal safety training programs. The study utilizes data from the National Occupational Exposure Survey conducted by NIOSH between 1981 and 1983 to explore these relationships.
