East Wind, Rain

Set in December 1941, the story unfolds on the isolated island of Niihau, where life is simple and untouched by modernity. The arrival of a plane crash-landing introduces chaos when the villagers unknowingly rescue a pilot involved in the Pearl Harbor attack. As war encroaches on their peaceful existence, the tensions rise, particularly in the troubled marriage of Irene and Yoshio Harada, the island's only Japanese-American couple. Loyalties are tested, and the idyllic paradise faces the harsh realities of conflict and betrayal.
