Apollo Operations Handbook Extra Vehicular Mobility Unit

The A7L and A7LB spacesuits, developed over eighteen years, were integral to the Apollo, Skylab, and Apollo-Soyuz missions. Featuring a sophisticated design by ILC Dover, these suits included a water-cooled undergarment and a durable outer layer. Following the Apollo I tragedy, a fire-resistant version was created using beta cloth. Two configurations were utilized during Apollo: the EV A7L for command module pilots, offering low pressure and fire protection, and the EV A7L PGA for enhanced protection against the lunar environment.
