Focusing on the impact of prison culture, this qualitative research study explores how the environment affects prison staff at both frontline and administrative levels. It examines prison management theory alongside the dynamics of prison and staff culture, highlighting the challenges faced by employees in this chaotic setting. As the first Canadian study of its kind, it utilizes interviews to reveal negative influences on staff well-being and proposes solutions aimed at enhancing job performance and satisfaction, ultimately fostering a better workplace environment.
