A Study of Mentoring in the Teach First Programme

Focusing on the perspectives of trainees, mentors, and university tutors, this PhD thesis presents a new framework for understanding the mentoring process in Initial Teacher Training (ITT). It highlights how the unique aspects of the Teach First program can be diminished by the school-based mentoring approach. The findings have significant implications for stakeholders in ITT, including system leaders, policy makers, and the Teach First organization, providing insights into the mentoring dynamics and their impact on teacher preparation.
