Focusing on service delivery, this study investigates the effectiveness of the Cape Town Metropolitan Police Department in addressing high crime rates. It assesses whether the department meets the Batho Pele principles outlined in South Africa's Constitution and examines its impact on community safety. By analyzing performance management within the public sector, the research highlights the need for enhanced productivity through ongoing performance management practices. The findings suggest that improvements in service delivery are crucial for fostering a secure environment in Cape Town.
